What are we going to do at Oasis?

Consider Oasis the ideal Shutter Sisters vacay; time away with the girls and time for yourself where everything is photo worthy and no one will tell you you’re taking too many pictures! You will be encouraged to exercise your creativity or your right to do nothing at all. Palm Springs is the perfect place for either, or both.

There will be plenty of planned gatherings, chats, workshops and outings and Ace Hotel & Swim Club is chock full of eclectic photo ops and other fun things to experience. There will be time for shooting, learning, printing, sharing, connecting, exploring and relaxing. But above and beyond the activity list is the opportunity of being a part of the sisterhood where we give each other freedom to be our truest selves; emotionally, creatively, and photographically.

 It really doesn’t get better than that.

 

Is Oasis going to be like Camp?

We thought you might be wondering. Camp was excellent, it’s true, but we have committed to hosting a completely new experience this year. We know going in that Oasis will hold its own magic and offer a charm all its own. Different venue, different landscape, different vibe, Oasis will be different yes. But rest assured, if you’re looking for the same kind of sisterhood and soul of Camp, you’ll definitely find it at Oasis!

 

Will I learn anything?

Absolutely. We believe our best learning occurs when we share sister-to-sister what we know in a supportive and inspiring environment.  While we are not considering this a how-to gathering, we have every confidence that all who attend will walk away with renewed confidence, validation, encouragement , and perspective for how to look through the lens in a brand new light, not to mention the kind of transformational shifts of the heart and soul that change you forever.

 

What does $1700 include?

Quite simply, an experience of a lifetime! As detailed on our Details page, your $1700 includes 5 days of the Shutter Sisters Oasis gathering, 4 nights lodging at the infamous Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs, and all of the other awesome things we've got planned!

We know from experience that you can't put a price tag on the bonds that are formed from gatherings like this.  Expect to experience a connection with other women that will continue for years to come, not to mention a rearranging of your soul that will make space for more courage, more creativity, and more appreciation for your everyday life. We fully expect that the women who attend will experience tribe and belonging in a meaningful and transformative way.

 

How do I pay?

Registration opens on Thursday, March 29th at 9am PST. At that time, visit the Registration page where you can register by following the simple instructions and pay via PayPal. We suggest you have your PayPal account all set and ready when registration opens as to avoid any delay in your registration process. You will be asked to pay the entire amount of your Oasis investment upon registration. 

 

Okay, I'm in.  How will I get there?

Getting to California will be all part of the adventure but it’s up to you as to how you want to get there. Palm Springs has its own airport which is only 2.3 miles from Ace Hotel & Swim Club .  The other option is-- ROAD TRIP! You can fly into one of two nearby airports (see below) and rent a car to take in the scenery of the California landscape, alone or better yet with a carful of sisters!

Ontario International Airport (ONT): Just over an hour and thirty minutes from Palm Springs, Ontario International Airport is a mid-size airport that boasts an extensive schedule of flights from major carriers including United, Alaska, Southwest, Delta, Continental, American and others.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): 110 miles to Palm Springs, Los Angeles International Airport can be ideal for our cross-country or international visitors. One of the world’s most accessible and bustling airports, LAX offers flights operated by nearly 90 airlines.

 


What do I need to bring?

Your amazing self, your heart, your courage and your spirit for adventure. Oh, and your camera of course! And any other "gear" that you feel you want or need to make your Oasis experience more creative and personal for you. You are welcome to bring any camera(s) and lenses you so choose, as well as your laptop, a journal, sketchbook, your cell phone (iPhoneography anyone?), etc. Just remember, it’s not the camera that makes the photographer! You don’t have to have an arsenal of gear to fit in. But, if you do happen to have a whole suitcase full of photographic muses, we welcome you and your suitcase too!
